Many students find don't like a school uniform dress code. They feel that it takes away their freedom to express themselves in the type of clothes that they want to wear. Many school in the United States choose uniforms to plain clothes because of gangs. Uniforms stop gang members from sporting their insignias and style (many are totally inappropriate for school clothing). This somehow stops violence, since members from different gangs can't show their colors, so to speak.

Wearing school uniforms may not seem essential to some, especially students, but they should be given importance because they represent the school and the community. It is difficult to point out students studying in different schools. But with school uniforms, students can be recognized easily.
