What is the difference between Junior and Misses Size?

Women's clothing comes in two sizes: Junior and Misses, and Plus Sizes. Juniors clothing is made slightly smaller, slimmer, and shorter then Misses clothing. A rule of thumb for Adult fit for Junior sizes is to select a garment two sizes larger for a comfortable fit, or one size larger for a closer fit.

Now you might ask why Junior sizing is an Adult clothing choice. Junior Style Clothing has come dramatically and spectacularly into its own at the turn of the 21st Century, offering fresh ideas in styles, design and fabrics. The stylish junior trends, coming from the Los Angeles Fashion District, are moving at a faster and faster pace to keep up with Global demand. Fresh new trends for designs and fabrics are appearing monthly. Savvy Junior Clothing buyers keep in step by adding to their wardrobe every 3 to 5 weeks. This is a phenomenon that will continue through the first decade of the second millennium.

Listed below is a general guide for the approximate sizing of Misses and Junior clothing:

MISSES sizes are approximately sized as follows: Small~4-6 (Bust 34), Medium~8-10 (Bust 36), Large~12-14 (Bust 38), X-Large (1X)~14-16 (Bust 40), 2X~16-18 (Bust 42), 2X~18-20 (Bust 44), 3X~20-22 (Bust 46), 4X~22-24 (Bust 48).

JUNIOR sizes are approximately sized as follows: Small~0-2 (Bust 30), Medium~4-6 (Bust 32), Large~8-10 (Bust 34), X-Large (1X)~12-13 (Bust 36), 2X~14-15 (Bust 38), 3X~15-16 (Bust 40), 4X~16-17 (Bust 42).

It should be noted that some designers do not follow this specific sizing guide, so when buying clothing, especially on the internet, look for garment measurements to help you decide the correct fit for you. If you cannot find measurements for the garment you wish to buy, contact the seller and ask questions.
